Who we are
estori is an independent service operated personally by its founder; it is not yet a registered company. It runs the app at app.estori.ai and this site at estori.ai. For any privacy question, or to delete your data, email support@estori.ai.
estori is a tool for parents
The account holder is an adult who creates stories starring their own child. We do not offer accounts to children and the app is not directed at children; a parent provides the information and controls the account.
The child's photo: used once, never stored
When you create a character, you upload a photo of your child. We send that photo to our AI image provider once, to generate a single cartoon illustration, and then we discard it. The original photo is never written to our database or storage. What we keep is the generated drawing plus the details you typed: the child's first name, optional age, and an optional short description.
What we store
Your account email address (used to sign you in). The characters you create (the drawing and the details you entered). The stories you generate (text and illustrations). If you order a printed book, the shipping address you enter and the order status. Billing records: your plan, credit balance, and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles payment details. Basic usage analytics, described below.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of service providers and share only what each needs: Supabase (database, storage, and login, hosted in the EU), Stripe (payments), Lulu (print production and shipping; they receive the print file, your shipping address, and your email to deliver your order), Google and OpenAI (generate the illustrations and story text; the photo goes to the image provider only for the one-time character drawing), Resend (sign-in emails), MailerLite (the newsletter, only if you subscribe), and Google Analytics, Meta, and PostHog (EU) for usage analytics. We never sell your personal data.
Cookies and analytics on this site
Analytics tools load only after you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, none of them load.
How long we keep data, and how to delete it
We keep account data while your account is active. Email support@estori.ai any time to delete your account and its data; we will remove your characters, stories, and account. Records tied to completed payments or print orders may be kept where the law requires it, such as tax records.
Where data is processed
Our database and storage are hosted in the European Union. Some providers (such as Stripe, our AI providers, and analytics) may process data outside the EU under their own safeguards.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: support@estori.ai. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we make a meaningful change, we will update this page and the date above.
